He was seeking a refund for seven pairs of sneakers, some of them ultra-rare shoes produced jointly by sportswear and fashion giants Nike and Dior. Tamara Press, Soviet Olympic champion whose gender was questioned, dies at 83

Tamara Press, a three-time Olympic champion in the shot put and discus from the Soviet Union who withdrew from international competition amid speculation about her gender, died April 26. She was 83. The Russian track federation announced her death but provided no further details. Ms. Press won gold in the shot put and silver in the discus at the 1960 Rome Olympics, and gold in both events at the 1964 Tokyo Games. Read More...
